Scriptures on Peace

Deadlines, traffic, exams, running errands, Holidays, family visits, house to clean, clothes to wash, new baby in the home, parenting, headlines, politics, and on and on. Why wouldn’t we feel stressed in the world we live in?

But that is not what Jesus wants for us!

Jesus said in John 14:27,  that he gave us his peace. We have the peace that Jesus walked in while on Earth! So, why do we still feel stressed, worried, fearful, anxious? We have a right to the peace of Christ, but we have to go after it, seek it, pursue it. It won’t just fall on us like an apple from a tree. We have to on purpose seek after peace. We have to see what the Bible says about the peace that it available to us. Hearing the Word of God on peace, will build our faith for it in our own lives (Romans 10:17). Then we can grab onto it and not let go. We will have the faith to declare peace over ourselves and our lives even when the world around us is shaking.  We can have internal peace, even in the midst of the storm.

Mediate on the scriptures below (read them over and over again, think about them, read them outloud several times a day). Renew your mind with the knowledge of the peace that is available to you. Get it down deep in your Spirit. Then you will be able to live in the peace of Christ no matter what.

Psalm 23 AMP ( A picture of peace )

The Lord is my Shepherd [to feed, to guide and to shield me],I shall not want. He lets me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still and quiet waters. He refreshes and restores my soul (life); He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the [sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort and console me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You have anointed and refreshed my head with oil; My cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell forever [throughout all my days] in the house and in the presence of the Lord.
