A Prayer For the Morning

A Prayer For the Morning

Welcome each new day with prayer! Pray this prayer every morning to get your day off to a great start:

Good morning Lord,

“This is the day that the Lord has made and I will rejoice and be glad in it (Psalm 118:24)!”

“In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly (Psalm 5:3).”

Creator of the universe and everything in it, I praise you this morning. You see me. You love me. You care about me and my life. You are Jehovah Rapha: the Lord my healer (Exodus 15:26). You are Jehovah Jireh: the Lord my provider (Genesis 32:13-14). You are Jehovah Shalom: the Lord my peace (Judges 6:24). I thank you Lord for sending your son Jesus to die for me, to redeem me. Through Jesus, you have made me your (son/daughter).

I thank you for all the blessings you have given to me: (List your blessings here: ie “my life, my family, my spouse, my kids, my home, my car, my job, my church, my health”)

Lord I ask that you would direct my day today. Lead me and guide me. Grant me wisdom and help me to make good decisions and choices today. Help me to walk in love. I love you Lord with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength, and help me also to love my neighbor as myself (Mark 12:30-31).

Lord, I ask that your favor would surround me like a shield today (Psalm 5:12). Protect me Lord from all harm. Thank you that I walk in health because Jesus bore sickness and disease for me (Matthew 8:16-17). The shed blood of Jesus covers me and my loved ones.

As I go out into the world today, I will go out wearing the full armor of God so that I can resist the enemy and stand firm in the midst of trials and tribulations that may come up.  I put on the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and I take the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God (Ephesians 6:10-17).

Today I will trust you Lord with all of my heart. Like Proverbs 3: 5-6 encourages, I will not lean to my own understanding, but in ALL thins, I will acknowledge you (by seeking your will and your way) and I trust that you will direct my path.

Help me to walk in love today and have patience with others. Help me to watch over my mouth to keep from gossip, judging others, and complaining. Thank you ahead of time for the strength and courage to face anything that this day may bring.

In the name of Jesus I pray,

Amen
