Confessions on My Identity in Christ
Confessing the Word of God is a powerful tool. Confessing the Word about who you are in Christ is essential to living a victorious life on this earth. Find out what the Word of God says about who you are as a follower of Jesus. Then, line your words up with what the Bible says about your identity by making these confessions. This will build your faith to stand in the truth of who God says you are in Christ. Use these confessions daily or as often as you like to boost your faith.
- In Christ, I am a new creature: old things are passed away and all things have become new. My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 2:20)
- I am dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. I have right standing with God, I am righteous before Him because Jesus died for me. Jesus rose from the dead and sits at the right hand of God interceding for me. (Romans 6:11, Romans 8:33-34)
- In Christ, I am redeemed by his blood and my sins are forgiven because of God’s grace lavished on me. God rescued me from the kingdom of darkness and transferred me into the Kingdom of his dear Son. In Christ, I am rooted, built up, and strong in my faith and overflowing with thankfulness. I am complete through my union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority. (Ephesians 1:7-8, Colossians 1:13-14, Colossians 2:6, Colossians 2:9-11)
- Christ has rescued me from the curse of the law. I was dead in my sins, but God raised me from the dead with Christ and seated me with him in heavenly places. I am united with Jesus. I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, has called me. (Galatians 3:13, Ephesians 2:4-6, Philippians 4:13, Philippians 3:14)
- I do not have a spirit of fear; but one of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. I have the mind of Christ. (1 Corinthians 2:16, 2 Timothy 1:7)
- I am the light of the world. I am Christ’s ambassador in this life. In the name of Jesus I will cast out demons and speak in new tongues. In the name of Jesus I will place my hands on the sick and they will be healed. (Matthew 5:14, 2 Corinthians 5:20-21, Mark 16:17-18)
- I have authority over all the power of the enemy, through Christ. I am free and live in triumph over sin and death through Jesus. Overwhelming victory is mine through Christ, who loves me. (Luke 10:17-19, Romans 5:17, Romans 8:1-2, Romans 8:37)
- I am an over comer. He who is in me is greater than he who is in the world. I have victory through the blood of the Lamb, and the word of my testimony. (1 John 4:4, Revelation 12:11)
- I am God’s temple and the Holy Spirit dwells within me. Through the Holy Spirit, I have the fruit of the spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. (Galatians 5:22-23, 1 Corinthians 3:16)
- I am God’s masterpiece. I am created anew in Christ Jesus. I have been born again, to a new life that will never end because it comes from the eternal, living word of God. (Ephesians 2:10, 1 Peter 1:23)
- I have been chosen by God and am dearly loved. I am part of a royal priesthood and a holy nation. As a result, I can show others the goodness of God, for he called me out of the darkness into his wonderful light. I am clothed with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. I forgive others just as the Lord forgave me. (1 Peter 2:9, Colossians 3:12-13)
- As I grow in my knowledge of God and Jesus, I walk in greater and greater grace and peace. I have everything I need to live a godly life, through God’s power. Through Jesus I have received these things and have been given great and precious promises. (2 Peter 1:2-4)
- I am God’s child and I don’t continue to sin. I have stripped off the old sinful nature and have put on my new nature. The devil can’t touch me because Jesus protects me. He personally carried my sins in his body on the cross so that I can be dead to sin and live for what is right. (1 John 5:18, Colossians 3:9-10, 1 Peter 2:24)
- Through Christ, I have the blessings of Abraham on my life. I am blessed in the city and blessed in the country. My children are blessed and the crops of my land are blessed. My basket and kneading trough are blessed. I am blessed coming in and blessed going out. Any enemy that rises up against me will be defeated. The Lord sends a blessing on my barns and on everything I put my hand to. I am the head and not the tail, I am above only and not be underneath. (Galatians 3:29, Deuteronomy 28: 3-8,13)
- I am a joint heir with Christ, as I am a child of God. God supplies all my needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to me in Christ Jesus. I am blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because I am united with Christ. (Romans 8:17 , Philippians 4:19, Ephesians 1:3-4)
